Background

Chuck's career has been devoted to helping individuals and companies in the civil litigation practice and with workers' compensation matters.  He handles matters for both claimants and plaintiffs, and defendants, which gives him a unique perspective. He has significant trial experience. Much of his practice has centered around workers' compensation law, general trial law, construction law, personal injury and insurance law.

Chuck practiced with a large Des Moines firm until 2002 when he started the Cutler Law Firm, P.C. His vision was to create an environment that would truly focus on customer service and that would include likeminded, high caliber lawyers and staff whose primary goal was to resolve their clients' legal problems quickly and fairly. He wanted to practice "big firm" law in a small firm setting. The firm now represents many large national companies, listed in the representative clients section of this website, as well as individuals in both large and small cases.  He believes in being welcoming to clients, up front and honest, while aggressively pursuing the very best result each time a commitment is made to a client.

Chuck has been an active member the Des Moines and West Des Moines communities. He has volunteered for many community and charitable organizations. He has served as Board Chair for Hospice of Central Iowa, Board Chair for the Des Moines YMCA camp, and Board Chair for Hansen House. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan YMCA and Blank Children's Hospital.  Chuck has also been actively involved in his church, serving on a number of committees.

Chuck enjoys many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, bicycling and sailing.
